If you’re going to do one mountain bike stage race in a lifetime, then make sure it’s the FNB Wines2Whales.

Taking riders from Lourensford Wines Estate in Somerset West to Onrus just outside Hermanus, the FNB Wines2Whales is a mountain bike journey that tests, tantalises and rewards participants with its attention to detail, remarkable trails and sublime course design.

From the heights of Lourensford looking down onto the cool, blue sea of Gordon’s Bay, to the immaculately crafted trails of Grabouw and Paul Cluver – not to mention whizzing between the apple crates inside the Kromco fruit packing facility – the FNB Wines2Whales delivers thrills at every switchback turn.

A particular highlight is riding through a field of proteas in full bloom on stage two; surely one of the most majestic sights an adventure and outdoors lover can experience.
