KLUITJIESKRAAL MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL - WOLSELEY
This is a scenic route to the west of Wolseley, crossing the Watervalberge twice. The waterfall en route is an absolute marvel to behold during the rainy season. As a major part of the route passes through a forest reserve, care should be taken to protect the natural environment. Watch out for lumber trucks.
  1. Get your permit at Demars Take-away's& Bike Shop in Vincent Street in Wolseley (opposite the Church in Voortrekker Street ).
  2. Proceed to the 4-stop signs (Voortrekker/ Eeufees streets) cross the road and 50m further turn right over the railway bridge to the T-junction.
  3. Turn left. 600m further the road surface becomes gravel.
  4. After 1.8km, you'll see the sign for Kluitjieskraal offices. Turn left and follow the sign to the parking area.
  5. From here you start your trail.
PERMIT CONDITIONS
  1. Permits are not transferable and only valid for the MTO Kluitjieskraal plantation and for the period for which they are issued.
  2. The person to whom the permit is issued shall be held liable for all damage to forest produce within the MTO plantation caused by his livestock, by lighting of fires, or by carelessness or neglect generally.
  3. Permits must be produced on demand to any forest, police or security officer.
  4. Smoking and lighting of fires are prohibited.
  5. The permit holder indemnifies MTO against any claims and/or lawsuits by any third party arising as a result of the exercise of the rights granted in terms of the permit and undertakes to compensate MTO for any costs which may be incurred in opposing such claims and/or lawsuits.
  6. The permit holder uses MTO roads and parking at his own risk and MTO and/or any of its employees will not be responsible in any way whatsoever for any damages which the permit holder and/or any other party may suffer as a result of MTO roads and parking facilities irrespective of whether such damages are caused as a result of negligence or not.
  7. No dogs allowed.
  8. All fauna and flora as well as all organic and inorganic material is protected. Please do not disturb, remove or damage. That includes pine needles, pine cones, branches, stones, rocks, etc.
  9. Please stay on the designated roads to prevent erosion.
  10. Under hazardous weather conditions or for any other reason deemed necessary the plantation could be closed off to the public.
  11. Please do not litter or pollute. In the event where it should happen, the "polluter must pay" principle will be applied.
  12. Entrance is allowed only during daylight hours.
  13. No firearms allowed.
  14. Entrance on grounds of Cape Nature prohibited.
  15. All gates must be closed.
